In addition to $2.2 billion paid for medical and hospital claims for HMSA members, HMSA invested $19.5 million in incentive programs to improve the quality of Hawaii’s health care system last year. Our continuing investment in quality programs and initiatives is an important part of HMSA’s commitment to producing the best outcomes for our members and helping hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers adopt best-practice procedures to provide quality care.
