HMSA’s go Walk@Lunch

Walk @ Lunch Walk @ Lunch Walk @ Lunch Walk @ Lunch

Ready to walk?

HMSA took part in the National Walk@Lunch Day to encourage people to take time during their lunch break to walk for better health.

This annual event is part of a national initiative by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association to increase public awareness of the importance of engaging in regular, healthy physical activity.

HMSA’s go Walk@Lunch took place in Honolulu from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Tamarind Park at Bishop Square (corner of Bishop and S. King streets) on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. The free event was open to the public.

The Hawaii Department of Health, YMCA of Honolulu, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society shared lots of great information on the importance of regular exercise and a nutritious diet.

This event combined elements of two important HMSA campaigns – our go campaign, which promotes physical activity, and our eat healthy campaign, which encourages people to make smarter eating choices.

It was a great time to get up, get out and get active!
